A Soul Journey - Part 2

The next time we came, it was as a collective with a single intent,
but there was nothing. No one came to challenge us. There were
no distorted shapes poised in space and no indication that anything
or anyone had ever been there. They had evidently withdrawn from
these systems and were gone for good. Or were they? We resolved
to keep a close watch throughout the galaxy for any further sign
of the intruders.
Everything quickly returned to normal. We all delighted in the
beauty of the Sunshine Galaxy. Suns and systems turned and spun
as they flowed along their assigned paths. Our disk-like galaxy
rotated slowly through the nothingness. In the distance, other
galaxies, like our own, danced and twinkled against the black
background. Joy and love permeated all and radiated in waves of
light throughout creation.
We continued to observe the encroaching planets closely, but no
longer attempted to interfere with their formations. Many were
actually quite stunning as the light reflected from their dark
surfaces. Like hungry beasts, the planets would engulf the pure
white light from their glowing suns and spew back the wavelengths
they did not want in an incredible display of color. Other planets
seemed to demand all of the light and only gave back dull reflections
of their surfaces. On closer examination, it seemed that the absorption
of the light depended on the density and the composition of the
planet's matter.
My base system contained seven planets already. They were strung
out like pearls on a string around their central sun. I often
moved around the galaxy attending to various tasks, adjusting
orbits and balancing energies, but it was always nice to return
"home". The various planets spawned from the sun were
an odd assortment of colors and sizes. They ranged from yellows
and reds to blue-greens and varied in size from small dense orbs
to huge gaseous giants almost rivaling the sun in size. Most planets
had smaller satellites orbiting them and looked ridiculously like
they were trying to mimic the sun. Other systems had also been
claimed and settled and peace and beauty was everywhere.
Our council meetings were well attended and our thoughts flowed
together like the waters of many rivers. Nothing was hidden and
our hearts were one. I began to notice a subtle shift in focus,
however, as time progressed. Thoughts became more centered on
"I", instead of "we", and concerned more with
what was lacking than what was abundant. This often led to disputes
between my brothers and a general uneasiness in the assembly.
Our Father's bounty seemed for many to not be enough. Other galaxies
sparkling in the distance beckoned to those desiring further acquisitions.
But I was beginning to have my own problems at home to contend
with.
A rogue planet had entered my base system and was disrupting its
symmetry and balance. This large dark sphere appeared to have
broken away from some other system, probably from one of our earlier
experiments, and was now being pulled into my system by its gravitational
force. It was being drawn clockwise towards the sun, while all
of the other surrounding planets orbited in counterclockwise revolutions.
This meant that it was inevitable that one or several of the planets
would orbit close to the assaulting planet or even possibly collide.
Four moons orbiting around the intruder, extended its sphere of
influence and complicated the situation. The first incident occurred
as the incoming planet impacted one of my outer planets, knocking
it on its side and gouging out portions of its substance. This
created three additional moons around the invading planet, bringing
its total to seven. Its path then brought it to the large watery
planet at the center of the system with its eleven moons. One
of the invader's larger moons impacted directly into the center
of the watery planet creating a huge split in the planet's surface.
In its next orbit around the sun, the new planet, which had now
become an additional member of the solar system, hit the injured
planet with such force that it knocked a large portion of it into
a new orbit and shattered the remaining part into many smaller
pieces. These pieces continued to follow the line of their original
orbit and spread out, documenting the destruction. The major piece
of the planet with much of its watery covering and its largest
moon took up a new position closer to the sun.
As this was all happening within my own home system, things began
to heat up in other areas of the galaxy as well. Skirmishes had
broken out in several key systems between the brothers, with each
attempting to control and manipulate the systems of the other.
With the start of animosities, communication began to also break
down. Brothers disconnected themselves from the collective consciousness
and withdrew to their respective systems. They began to fortify
themselves to protect against the encroachment of outside groups.
We were all bewildered by the turn of events and felt helpless
to prevent the rising tide of dissent. Where was the Father's
plan? What was our purpose now that separateness was rampant?
What would happen to our creations? (to
be continued)
